| About Thornlea Mews | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Originally
built about 1900 and for many years a working farm. The stable block
forming part of the farm was converted some years ago
into Mews Cottages which surround a flowered courtyard area that also
contains a railed pond. The cottages have attractive views
to the rear over undeveloped valley fields |

Behind
and below the Mews Cottages lay the three Brook Cottages. These face
south over a pretty garden area whose boundary
is set by a small stream, which is screened by fence and plants. The
interiors of these cottages are wood clad giving them a "log
cabin"
feel. The foors of all the cottages are of varnished wood and slate
which affords a degree of practicality when returning from
the beach with small sandy children or pets. At dusk badgers come
into the garden to feed. |
